Picture of Our Story

On Valentine’s Day, Evan proposed to Aiden at the very place where their story began—a quiet trail in the foothills overlooking Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains. It was a moment woven together by God, a reflection of His perfect timing and faithfulness.

Though they had moved to Utah from opposite coasts years earlier, God had been writing their love story long before they met. Both Evan and Aiden found a home at Gospel Grace Church and joined the same Bible study in 2022. Yet, for two years, their lives ran parallel without crossing—until the Fourth of July, when they finally met while watching fireworks with friends on the overlook trail.

For Aiden, it was love at first sight. She was immediately drawn to Evan’s love for Jesus, intelligence, humor, and kind heart. But for Evan, it took time. Two months later, on a trip to the summit of the Grand Teton in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, God opened his eyes.

After that weekend, Aiden wrote Evan a heartfelt letter, thanking him for his patience, encouragement, and generosity in leading her and her sister, Logan, up the mountain. In her words, Evan recognized God’s gentle hand guiding him to the woman he had been praying for. Without hesitation, he called his close friend, and said with certainty, “I’ve met my future wife.”

Aiden and Evan agreed to start by building a foundation of friendship and were determined to avoid a whirlwind romance. That commitment lasted a week and a half. Six months into dating, it was undeniable—God had written their love story, and they were ready to take steps toward the covenant of marriage.

And so, on that Valentine’s Day, standing in the very place where their story began, Evan got down on one knee and asked Aiden to spend the rest of their lives together.

With joyful certainty, she said yes.
